These Babies are Growing

These Babies are Growing

Today was a great day! Bryant found the energy to come with me to my appointments, and the babies got measured!

I had my normal fetal monitoring at 7:45, then my high risk appointment at 9:30. It's a shame seeing the equipment the high risk tecnicians have to use, verses the ones the fetal monitoring nurses have to use. The latter machines are dinosaurs in comparison. Seems like the fetal monitoring job would be a lot easier and efficient if they had the machines the HR folks had. Of course on the day that I had back to back apptoinments, Baby B was moving and so they were  having a hard time getting her monitored, but it all worked out.

After getting the babies measured, my assumptions were confirmed. Baby A was 2 pounds 10 ounces, Baby B 2 pounds 9 ounces and Baby C 2 pounds 6 ounces. They all grew at least a pound since last being measured. I was so happy!  Then to read, from a reliable source, (the bump.com) that a "normal" weight for this week is 2 pounds 5 ounces, I was even more excited.  In total they are already bigger than the 7 pounds my son was when he was born.

During this whole journey, I've tried to stay positive, and dismiss any comments that I felt were negative, while still being realistic about the risks of carrying triplets. With that said, I was never given a dietary schedule or information as to what or how much I should be eating. Only thing I was told was eat when you're hungry. I've read about other mothers having to eat a certain amount of calories per day, so I decided to EAT, EAT EAT. Not to the extent of making my self sick but eat even when I'm not hungry. My stomach is so squished anyway, so I really can't eat a lot in any one sitting, but my goal is to eat a lot more often to get my calories up and get these girls as big as possible. #eatinggoals!

The next time they're going to be weighed will be at my C section, at their birth. After this appointment, I had a scheduled appointment for my Glucose test. Good thing I was a half hour early to LabCorp because I was able to drink their potion and get my hour of waiting started.  Busy day and Bryant hung in there. Happy to have company even if he's sleep most of the time, LOL.
